The 13 Arches Trail Half Marathon , organized by Radcliffe AC was Jackie's choice of UK Half Marathon , and what a good choice it was . Run on scenic trails this sold out race didn't disappoint.Only in its second year it has already gained a strong reputation so you must get in early if you want to have a go. With a limit of 300 for the 2016 race it was increased to 400 for 2017 .

“Many runners commented on the friendliness and thoroughness of Radcliffe AC and have said they will be back with their club-mates and friends next year.
We sold out many weeks ago and will be raising the entry limit to keep up with demand"

As you can see from the pictures it was a beautiful Autumn day .

BREXIT CHALLENGE

Before I start I just want to raise the question of Brexit and I will try not to mention it again , if that's possible! We wouldn't be doing it if not for Brexit .So lets say it was inspired by Brexit . I have learned so much from Brexit that I didn't know before . There are 28 members of the European Union , could I name them all , not a chance . Can I now , yes I think so .There are 19 countries in the Euro Zone , could I name them , no way , can I now errr probably not . I have a fair grasp now of the single market and how it works and I get why trade deals are so complicated and important . In fact I am now more European than I ever was . So why are we doing it ? Because we can for a start , we were very lucky to sell our business after 25 plus years in 2007 just before the financial crisis of 2007-2008 . I have done a blog that covers information about the trips . This is primarily for anyone who fancies trying one . Saturday 9th June 2018 No 8 Richard 01:56.36 Jackie 02:19:02 We knew very little about Finland before we went . I now know it is very expensive the 3rd most expensive country in the EU , nearly everyone speaks English , it has a population of 5.5 million with 1.5 million living in Helsinki . It was one of the smaller events we had entered with 2211 runners which made registration and getting to the start more relaxed . Also there was less demand for the toilets !! I loved the course it followed the coast line and harbor area along tarmac paths perfect for running . Everything about this event was well organized , the start and finish areas, the drink stations, and the t-shirt was the best quality yet .The results were instantaneous and detailed and included a finish line photo. My only problem was I had my first Marathon the weekend after and I definitely let it play on my mind . ...
