Saturday 8th December 2018 Lanzarote Half Marathon No 21 Richard 02:28:49 Jackie 02:28:49 It was baking hot . The average temperature for the time of year was 19 C. On the day it was closer to 30 C . BEFORE TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER!! We have visited Lanzarote previously and unlike the other runs (apart from Rochdale) we knew the route and the area . Lanzarote has a reputation for sports and is well known for its Triathlon . It is also a popular destination for winter training . The weather when we were there was more suited to sunbathing than running as it was unusually hot for the time of year . However this did not dampen anyone's enthusiasm and it was an extremely well run event , a good course along the coast and plenty of water stations. The event has been run since 1990 and has steadily grown in numbers to its present day 3000 which makes it the largest event on the island . As well as the half marathon there is a
