LETS GET GOING

 I  have done a blog that covers information about the trips . This is primarily for anyone who fancies trying one . My sister has expressed an interest , new to running and on her second park run (33 mins), she wants to build up to a half marathon sometime next year , so if anyone fancies checking out the info it's all here.

So far we have entered Clonakilty in Ireland , Malta , Paris , Berlin, Sofia, Helsinki and Porto , so a few to go yet . The rest of this blog will be in diary from updating events as we go along . Hope you enjoy it .
                We  have pledged £10.00 for any half marathon I do in over 2 hrs and 2 hrs 15 mins for Jackie and £50.00 for any country I miss . Below are our previous and updated  half marathon results .

Saturday 9th June 2018 Helsinki Half Marathon No 8 Finland

Saturday 9th June 2018 No 8  Richard 01:56.36 Jackie 02:19:02 We knew very little about Finland before we went . I now know it is very expensive the 3rd most expensive country in the EU , nearly everyone speaks English , it has a population of 5.5 million with 1.5 million living in Helsinki .    It was one of the smaller events we had entered with 2211 runners which made registration and getting to the start more relaxed . Also there was less demand for the toilets !! I loved the course it followed the coast line and harbor area along tarmac  paths perfect for running . Everything about this event was well organized , the start and finish areas, the drink stations, and the t-shirt was the best quality yet  .The results were instantaneous and detailed and included a finish line photo. My only problem was I had my first Marathon the weekend after and I definitely let it play on my mind .                                         RESULTS FOR RICHARD MASON location time s

Sunday 9th September 2018 No 12  Richard 01:55:19 Jackie 02:15:22 This was a big event for Tallinn and Estonia as it was taking place in the centenary year of the creation of the Republic of Estonia . One hundred years of the Republic of Estonia "On February 24, 2018, one hundred years passed from the proclamation of Estonia as an independent, democratic republic. This is undoubtedly one of the most important and greatest milestones in our history with great meaning for us all. The centenary is a celebration for everyone and the perfect opportunity for us to join our efforts towards building a better future together. " The Marathon ,Half Marathon 10km and 5km were set to enjoy the largest participation event in Estonia's 100 year history . Also the event was due to attract the largest number of foreign participants .
